The City of North Port's Parks & Recreation Department - Scholarships

The City of North Port's Parks & Recreation Department and the Social Services Division has established a recreation scholarship fund to help North Port youth who do not have the financial means to participate in recreation programs. The scholarship program provides youth age 17 years and under from income eligible families with exposure to positive recreation experiences that promote physical, mental and social well-being.

Youth residents of the City of North Port are eligible for a recreation scholarship. Youth are defined as being 17 years of age or under. Approval of application is made on an individual basis and subject to the program availability, age and enrollment parameters. Financial eligibility will be based on the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines.

Scholarship applications are accepted throughout the year and are subject to available funds. Information on Parks & Recreation Department programs is published twice yearly in the North Port Playbook. To apply for a scholarship, complete the scholarship application form and submit to the City of North Port Social Services Division located at 6919 Outreach Way, North Port FL 34287, at the corner of Pan American and Outreach Way, or call 941-429-3700 for assistance. Hours of Operation are 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30-5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
