Great Seashell Hunt

Back in 1890 when Port Boca Grande Lighthouse & Museum was built, & during the years that lightkeepers lived at the Lighthouse, eggs were not always available. It's been said that on spring holiday, they hunted & learned about seashells on the beach instead. Kids love BIPS’ Great Seashell Hunt, because it’s not only educational, it’s FUN! During the program, we'll learn fascinating facts about the barrier island shells found in SW Florida. Then the exciting hunt is on to find your own seashells on the beach and turn them into awesome prizes! Meet us at Port Boca Grande Lighthouse & Museum near the picnic tables! Program begins at 11am.
