Kickoff to K: An Exclusive Party for Incoming Kindergartners
Starting kindergarten in August 2024? This party is for you! Kickstart your child’s kindergarten excitement with dinner, dancing and delightful fun.
Sarasota County Schools is once again teaming up with the Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County to host two FREE parties for all incoming public and charter kindergartners and their families. This particular party is conveniently located for south county students.
We welcome those of you who know everything about your child’s new elementary school as well as those who know nothing about it. Still need to find your district school? We’ve got you covered!
This event is a great opportunity to connect with Sarasota County School leaders, meet kindergarten teachers, and get your questions answered. The best part… your whole family will have a great time while doing it.
Eligibility specialists with the Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County will also be onsite to help families navigate their childcare search for younger siblings. Help includes how to apply for financial assistance for independent, community-based preschools as well as how to register for Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)—a free preschool program for all Florida 4-year-olds, regardless of income.
In addition to food and dancing with a DJ, the event will feature a free “Future Kindergartner” photo booth. The entire family will also enjoy hands-on activities with participating kindergarten teachers, an art project with The Ringling Museum, interactive STEM activities with Sarasota Children’s Museum, clever guessing games with prizes and free book giveaways.
Each incoming kindergartner will also receive a swag bag filled with hands-on, manipulative play materials featuring researched-based strategies that the whole family can enjoy!
